IIla “Jean” (Lowrey) Bacon, 90, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, due to complications of Covid-19 at Hays Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Neosho, Mo., to Leon E. and Lucy Ann (Berry) Lowrey. She graduated from Neosho High School.
She married Henry Lloyd “Red” Bacon in 1950. He preceded her in death Dec. 17, 1968. She worked for Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas (DSNWK).
Survivors include a son, Danny Bacon, Hoxie; a daughter, Marcy Gilbert, Rexford; two sisters, Bessie Lauffer and Ellen Jeffers , both of Independence, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie; burial in Rexford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Illa Jean Bacon Memorial Fund in care of the funereal home.
