Ralph Jay Brooks, 94, Hoxie, formerly of Clayton, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, at Sheridan County Health Complex, Hoxie.
He was born April 3, 1926, in Clayton to Van W. and Thelma (Foust) Brooks.
He married Lea Rae Branscomb April 29, 1944. She preceded him in death. He was a farmer/rancher. He was a U.S. Army veteran as a radio/radar technician from May of 1944 to May of 1946 and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, Don Brooks, Clayton; two daughters, Carolyn “Jo” Walker, Clayton and Janet Guerrero, Salina; a brother, Vern Brooks, Green Valley, Ariz.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Cremation has been chosen. A private family service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie; inurnment and military rites will be in Clayton Cemetery.
A public visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Sheridan County Health Complex Long Term Care Unit or Clayton Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
