Doralyn Ann (Gasper) Dubbert

Doralyn Ann (Gasper) Dubbert, 95, Cawker City, died Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, at Hays Med-The University of Kansas Health Center.

She was born Nov, 25, 1925, in Tipton, to Frank and Mary Gasper. She received her education at the Holy Corner Catholic School, Tipton.

She married Gerald C. Dubbert, on June 17, 1947. in Tipton. Together they undertook a farming, cattle, and hog operation along Oak Creek in Mitchell County and years later, in 1967, they moved to her current residence in rural Downs because of their displacement due to the construction of Waconda Lake Reservoir. They celebrated 52 years of marriage together prior to him preceding her in death in May 2000.

She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, Downs. She was involved in a variety of volunteer work activities, including assistance to the St. Mary’s Altar Society, the Cancer Society, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Beloit.

She was a devoted wife and mother. As a homemaker/farm wife, she was an excellent cook and seamstress.

She enjoyed baking, gardening, dancing, sewing, flower gardening, and embroidery work.

Survivors include her children, Steve Dubbert, Cawker City, Rodney Dubbert (Renee), Johnstown, Colo., Debby Loy (Wally), Barnard, Darla  J. Fuertges (Don-deceased), Hays, Carolyn McDaneld (Kenny), Wellington; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; four sisters; a great grandchild, Colten Christopher Dubbert, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be announced on a later date, but tentative arrangements are scheduled for May 29, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Tipton; inurnment in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Downs or St. Boniface Church, Tipton.
