Raymond A. "Ray" Legleiter, 81, McPherson, formerly of Liebenthal, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, at Wheat State Manor, Whitewater.
He was born Sept. 17, 1939, in Rush County to John B. and Josephine (Dechant) Legleiter.
He was a farmer, small engine repair mechanic and a jack of all trades.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson.
He enjoyed playing the accordion and was very fond of his pet animals.
Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Spies and husband, Willie, Hoisington; a brother, Ron Legleiter and wife, Susan, Hays; four sisters, Rita VonFeldt, Julietta Randa and Mary Jane Brungardt, all of McPherson; and Julianna Daniels, El Dorado; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gordon Ray Legleiter; a daughter, Karen Hicks; three brothers, Robert, Ralph, and Richard Legleiter; a nephew, Bradley Legleiter; and two nieces, Debbie A. Roudebush and Shelby Swaney.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Cemetery, Liebenthal.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, both at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
A combined vigil/rosary will be 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
