Phyllis D. Kreft, 85, of Osborne, Kansas passed away on December 14, 2020 at Parkview Care Center, Osborne, KS.
Phyllis was born June 19, 1935 in rural Osborne County to Harold and Alma (Bradshaw) Lund. She grew up near Covert, Kansas and began her early school years at country school. The family moved to Osborne beginning her 5th grade year and she graduated from Osborne High School with the class of 1953.
On June 23, 1957 she was united in marriage to Gerald W. Kreft. To this union three children were born: Kendall, Ginger and Valeri. Gerald died suddenly in July of 1967 leaving Phyllis with three young children to raise.
Phyllis worked at various bookkeeping and secretarial jobs including Quenzer Appliance. In her retirement years, she spent many hours volunteering at the Community Market Place in Osborne. She was a long-time member of the United Christian Church and was involved in the Christian Women's Fellowship.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, her parents, and siblings Doyle Lund, Lowell Lund, and Marvelene Schreiber.
Surviving family includes a son Kendall Kreft (Daiia) of Lake Stevens, WA; daughters Ginger DeBey (Ray) of Cawker City, KS and Valeri Werthmann (Andrew) of Osborne, KS; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; sister-in law Janice Lund; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 1:30 PM at the United Christian Church, Osborne, KS with burial in the Osborne City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the church, with family present.
A memorial has been established with the Community Market Place of Osborne.
