Linda Marlene Legg, 73, Kalvesta, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2021, at her home.
She was born Nov. 24, 1947, in Garden City to Marvin and Ella Clark. She attended grade school at White Mound and Theoni schools in rural Finney County. She attended Cimarron High School, followed by Garden City Community College.
She married George Legg on June 5, 1966, in Cimarron. He preceded her in death. They lived their entire lives in Gray and Finney Counties. Over the years, she worked in many capacities while being employed at Theoni School. She was a secretary/office manager of Cimarron Dairy, CAG Dairy, and Spandet Dairy. In addition, the Legg family owned and operated a dirt construction business for several years and she retired in the fall of 2020.
She enjoyed her family, friends, grandchildren, many family reunions, activities, trips, programs, and sporting events.
Survivors include a son, Clark Legg and wife, Ruth, Kalvesta; two daughters, Janene Legg, Kalvesta, and Jaymie Ruder and husband Brian, Hays; a sister, Shirley Poppe and husband, Clyde, Montezuma; a brother, Curtis Clark and wife, Waneen, Cimarron; a daughter-in-law, Stephanie ReQua and husband, Nathan, Sedgwick; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clint Legg; her parents; and two brothers, Gary Clark and Kelly Clark.
Out of respect for everyone’s well being, a private family memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Cimarron; burial in Cimarron Cemetery. Family requests mask be worn at both the visitation and funeral service. The service will be live streamed via the funeral home and First Baptist Church Facebook pages.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Cimarron.
Memorials are suggested to Breast Center of St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City, Finney County EMS, or Pawnee Acre Community Building, in care of funeral chapel.
