Robert Ward Blecha, 51, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at his home near Garfield.
He was born May 13, 1969, in Belleville to Robert E. and Marilyn S. (Johnson) Blecha. He was a 1987 graduate of Hays High School and graduated from Kansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in Hutchinson.
He married Pookie Khattiwong on Sept. 28, 2009, in Cumming, Ga. He was a sheriff’s deputy in Norton County and Phillips County and later he worked in construction and carpentry.
Survivors include his wife, Garfield; four sons, Ryan Blecha and wife, Mackenzie, Hays, Robert Charles Blecha and fiancéé, Tabetha and Rhett D. Blecha and wife, Brooke, all of Beaver City, Neb.; and Reese Blecha, Long Island; three daughters, Raelea Blecha, Long Island, Ricole Blecha of Lincoln, Neb., and Natasha Blecha, Garfield; his father, Hays; two brothers, Rodney Blecha and wife, Kathy, Lenexa, and Randy Blecha, O’Fallon, Mo.; two sisters, Rochelle Massengale and husband, Rich, Shiloh, Ill., and Robyn Roger, Olathe his granddaughters, Gentry and Charlie Jo Blecha, Hays; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
His wishes were to be cremated with a private family service to be held in March 2021, in Tabor Cemetery, rural Munden.
