Melvin Francis Sander, 73, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born Feb., 17, 1947 , in Hays to Mike and Georgene (Wasinger) Sander.
He worked at Dan’s Café and Holiday Inn.
He enjoyed watching old television shows, especially The Andy Griffith Show and Bonanza. He enjoyed hot wheels, matchbox cars and he was a Ford man and especially like spending time with his family and making people laugh.
Survivors include three brothers, Marvin, Larry and wife, Rhonda and Mike, all of Hays; three sisters, Darlene Johnson and husband, Bill, Bertha, Colo., Linda Fisher and husband, Francis and Debra Kuhn, all of Hays.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Norma Thompson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
Memorials are suggested to be used as family’s wishes in care of the funeral chapel.
