Florina M. “Flo” Beilman

Florina M. “Flo” Beilman, 90, Hays, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 9, 1930, in Pfeifer to John and Paulina (Roth) Jacobs. She was a 1949 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Salina.  

She married Robert Peter Beilman on April 9, 1952, in Pfeifer, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage before he preceded her in death Feb. 22, 2003.  For 25 years, she raised her family and was a homemaker, and then for 18 years was a certified nursing assistant at Hadley Hospital and Hays Medical Center.  

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and volunteered with Hospice and Birthright.  

She enjoyed her sports, especially the KC Royals and the KC Chiefs. Family was number one, and she enjoyed gardening and watching her birds. The rosary was her saving grace and she prayed for her family and friends daily.

Survivors include six son, Rob Beilman and wife, Joyce, Derby, Chuck Beilman and wife, Pam, Arvada, Colo., John Beilman (Andi Miller), New Bern, N.C., Wes Beilman and wife, Keri, Wichita, Ron Beilman and wife, Kori, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Jason Beilman and wife, Stacey, Ozawkie; four daughters, Peg Prockish and husband, Dan, Olathe, Paula Schlitter and Fred Bouse, Hays, Marissa Lang, Wichita, and Jan Klaus and husband, Brad, Hays; a sister, Rosie Ziegler, Hays; a  brother-in-law, Jim Deskins, Wichita; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Lee, Gene, Marcy, Adolph, and Florian Jacobs; and three sisters, Armella Schulte, Erma Chrnalager, and Marietta Hillenkamp.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church; inurnment  in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, Hays, KS 67601.

A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a vigil/rosary at 6:30 p.m., all at the funeral home.  

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Hospice of HaysMed in care of the funeral home.
