David Ralph Scott, 74, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born June 23, 1946, in Ransom to Ralph and Lavon (Squier) Scott.
He married Doris Ummel on May 17, 1980, in Ransom. He was a highway maintenance man working for the Kansas Department of Public Transportation.
He was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Veterans of Foreign Post No. 7972, both of Ransom, and the Sunley-Squier Post No. 382 American Legion of Brownell.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Aaron Scott, Emporia; a daughter, Berneice George and husband, Gary, Russell; a brother, Jim Scott and wife, Patti, Hays; and two grandchildren, Braxton and Natalya George.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Mennonite Church, Ransom; burial will be at a later date.
Friends can sign the book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.
