Arvetta Marie Karst, 97, Ellsworth, died Saturday, March 13, 2021, in Lyons.
She was born Oct. 31, 1923, in Zurich to Oscar and Marie Ninemire. She grew up in Plainville and graduated from Plainville High School.
She married Herman “Sam” Karst in 1944. He preceded her in death. She started her working career at the city office in Plainville then went to work for the Plainville State Bank until she moved to Ellsworth.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ellsworth.
Survivors include a son, Sam and wife, Darla, Bennington; a son-in-law, Jon Mehler and wife, Susan, Topeka; a sister, Doris Comer, Sapulpa, Okla.; four grandchildren, Lance (Nancy) Karst, Ellsworth, Craig (Emily) Mehler, Salina, Craig Karst, Ellsworth, and Christi (Tim) Boyden, Topeka; and eight great-grandchildren, Alexis, Sam, Luke, Joshua, Zachery, Kierra, Gabe, and Harmony.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Olive Nash; a brother, Orion Ninemire; a daughter, Susan Mehler; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Karst.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Plainville Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Kindred Hospice or Good Samaritan Society, Lyons, in care of Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
