Richard “Rick” L. Cooper

Richard “Rick” L. Cooper, 67, of Cape May Court House, NJ, formally of Hays, KS, passed away January17, 2021.

Born in Concordia, KS to the late Milton L. Cooper and June L. Cooper. He moved to Cape May Court House thirteen years ago. Rick’s family lived in the following Kansas communities: Scandia, Gaylord, Esbon, Scandiaagain, Natoma, and Quinter.Rick graduated from Fort Hays State University with an Art Degree.

He worked in the athletic department at Fort Hays State University from which he retired. He also worked as a plumbing sales associate at The Home Depotin Cape May Court House.Rick adored his three Shih Tzu’s: Tumbalina, Rusty, and Tucker. He enjoyed art, woodworking, and collecting antique toys. His favorite activity was running the Saturday Kid’s Workshop at The Home Depot.

Rick is survived by his sister, Nancy Mills, McPherson,KS; his brother, Stevan Cooper, Chase, KS; his five nieces, Katie Burge, Janet Cooper, Marie Woods, Shelley Bohme, and Susan Dumler and his great nieces and nephews. His best friend, Lori will always remain in our hearts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Lee Cooper, his brother, Alan Kent Cooper, and his niece, Jennifer Barlow.

Graveside services will be held in Glasco, Kansas on April 17 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
