OAKLEY — The Thomas More Prep-Marian boys’ and girls’ basketball teams rolled to a pair of victories Friday night to close the first semester of action.

The Monarch girls picked up a 52-25 victory against Oakley, while the TMP boys rolled to an 82-34 victory against the Plainsmen.

Kayla Vitztum led the Monarch girls, who moved to 5-1, with 18 points. The Monarchs had a pair of big runs to jump out early, then never looked back as they moved to 2-0 in Mid-Continent League play before the holiday break.

The Monarch boys also jumped out early, starting the game on a 14-4 run and led by double digits the rest of the way.

The Monarch boys are 4-2 and 2-0 in MCL play. TMP is off until Jan. 5 when they play host to Ellis at Al Billinger Fieldhouse.
