The Tiger offense got off to a hot start in the contest after plating three runs, all with two outs, in the opening frame to take a strong 3-0 lead over the Bearcats. Landon Erway got things started for the black and gold after singling to left field. Erway moved over to third after Taylan Mullins-Ohm ripped a single of his own to right center.

Ryan Grasser then delivered a two-run single, pushing Olson and Mullins-Ohm across home plate, giving them a three run cushion after one inning.
Tiger starter Ethan Booe shut down the Bearcat bats for the better part of three innings until Northwest Missouri cut into the Tiger lead with an RBI single in the third frame. The Bearcats then tied the score at 3-3 in the fourth after earning an RBI double and an RBI single in consecutive plate appearances. Northwest Missouri took the lead for good in the fifth after a sacrifice fly push them ahead of the Tigers, 4-3.
Erway was the lone Tiger to earn a multi-hit bid in the contest, as five other Tigers poked a hit to give FHSU a total of seven on the afternoon. Ethan Booe tossed 5.1 innings, allowing four runs on eight hits and walking three batters. Booe also posted three strikeouts. Ryan Brown pitched 2.2 scoreless innings of relief, only allowing two hits and earning a strikeout in the process.
