Firing a 321 Monday at Smoky Hill Country Club, the Hays High School boys’ golf team took home the championship in its own Bob Blazer Invitational.

Josh Norris led the way for the Indians with a second-place 74, five shots back of individual champion, Sion Audrain of Garden City.

Norris fired a 38 on the front and 36 on the back, finishing three over on the Par 71, 6,291-yard Smoky.

Jason Krannawitter was the Indians’ next best finish, claiming fifth place with a 77. Tradgon McCrae was ninth with an 81, bettering his round by three shots on the back nine to a 39. Weston Hoskins and Tucker Johnson each shot an 89 to finish 16th and 17th, while Wesley Oakley finished with a 96.

Garden City finished four shots back of the Indians. After Audrain, the Buffs’ next best finish was Theo Juhl in 10th with an 81. Salina South was third with a 344 and Dodge CIty fifth with a 359. WAC teams Great Bend (375) and Liberal (412) were eighth and ninth. Hays High is slated for tourney action Thursday at Dodge City.
