Thomas More Prep-Marian High School announced Wednesday the hiring of Jay Harris as head football coach.

Harris takes the reins of the high school program after guiding the TMP-Marian junior high football team, leading the team to two undefeated seasons.

He will replace David Bowen, who resigned to accept the head coaching position at Baldwin City High School. The Monarchs went 3-6 last year in their lone season under Bowen.

“I am pleased for Coach Bowen as he accepts a new opportunity in an area close to family and wish him the best of luck and God’s blessings for the future,” said TMP-Marian principal Chad Meitner.

Harris joined TMP-Marian in 2016 and was an assistant high school football coach at TMP before leading the middle school program. Before arriving at TMP, Harris coached football, track and basketball at the high school and junior high levels at Ness City.
