AUGUSTA — The Hays Larks pushed their win streak to eight games with a 12-0 rout of the Kansas Cannons on Monday night.
Drake Angeron and Justin Lee led the way with three hits each as the Larks moved to 9-1 on the season and 8-0 in Kansas Collegiate League Baseball play. Lee drove in three runs.
Jimmy DeLeon added two hits for Hays. Angeron and Hernan Yanez each had a double for the Larks, who outhit the Cannons 13-3.
In his first appearance, Larks’ starter Michael Gilliland tossed six shutout innings, surrendering just two hits and one walk while striking out seven.
The Larks will return to Larks Park to face the Park City Rangers at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
