The Hays Larks dropped the series finale against Liberal on Thursday, falling 6-3 to the Liberal Bee Jays.

The Larks, who fell to 14-4 and 5-3 in the Kansas Collegiate League baseball Jayhawk West Division, had a chance to rally in the ninth inning but left the bases loaded.

Michael Gilliland took the loss for the Larks, allowing six runs (three earned) in five innings.

George Sutherland had two hits for Hays. Sutherland, Hernan Yanez and Max McGuire each drove in a run for the Larks.

Liberal won three of the four games in the series.

The Larks were set to begin a four-game series with Valley Center at 7 p.m. Saturday at Larks Park.
