DODGE CITY — The Hays Larks took care of the Dodge City A’s for the second straight night, picking up an 8-2 road win Wednesday.

The Larks moved to 25-7 overall and 9-5 in the Kansas Collegiate League’s Jayhawk West Division, extending their division lead to a game and a half over Liberal.

The Larks turned a one-run lead into a six-run advantage by plating five runs in the top of the sixth to seize control.

Justin Lee homered and had a double for the Larks, who also had two-hit outings from Skyler Luna and George Sutherland.

Rustin Hays went seven innings on the mound to earn the win, allowing two runs on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Tommy Garcia worked two scoreless innings in relief.

The Larks will open a four-game stand on Thursday, taking on the Denver Cougars at 7 p.m. at Larks Park.
