WICHITA — Hays Larks' outfielder Jarrod Belbin was selected to the National Baseball Congress World Series All-American team after a strong showing in the first week of the tournament.

The Australian was the Larks' top hitter in their four games at the NBC World Series at Eck Stadium in Wichita. Belbin went 6 of 14 in the NBC with three doubles, two triples, six RBIs, two walks and four runs scored. He boasted a .429 batting average in the Larks' four games in Wichita.

Belbin helped the Larks amass a 34-12 record on the summer, which marked their first season in Kansas Collegiate League Baseball.

Other selections from Kansas programs including pitcher Mike Mitchell and designated hitter Colton Whitehouse from the Derby Twins, pitcher Aaron Bechtel from the Kansas Cannons, first baseman Dawson Pomeroy from the Great Bend Bat Cats, and shortstop Blake Rambusch and outfielder Kyler Castillo from the Cheney Diamond Dawgs.

The Seattle Studs, who claimed their third NBC World Series championship, placed five players on the All-American team.
