EDMOND, Okla. — The Fort Hays State football team turned in its most complete outing of the season on Saturday at Central Oklahoma, reeling off 28 unanswered points to earn a 35-7 win over UCO at Wantland Stadium.

All five Tiger touchdowns came through the air courtesy of Chance Fuller, who found Harley Hazlett and Manny Ramsey for two touchdowns each and also hit Jacoby Williams for a fourth-quarter score as Fort Hays picked up its third straight win to move to 3-2.

The FHSU defense opened with a stop and the Tiger offense struck first on Fuller's 36-yard TD to Hazlett. UCO scored its lone touchdown on a 5-yard TD pass to Amonte Phillips from Will Collins before Hazlett gave the Tigers the lead back with his MIAA-leading eighth touchdown catch of the season on a 23-yarder.

Ramsey then caught a pair of second-quarter touchdown passes for 6- and 11-yard scores as the Tigers built a 28-7 lead by halftime.

Fuller finished 23 of 30 for 310 yards with the five TDs and two interceptions. He capped things off with a 6-yard TD to Williams with 7:56 left.

The Tigers outgained UCO 489 to 238 and the Bronchos managed just 10 first downs.

Tiger running backs Charles Tigner and D.J. Hickman combined for 163 yards on the ground. Tigner finished with 83 yards on 15 carries while Hickman had 80 yards on 16 attempts. Tigner also caught three passes for 53 yards.

Hazlett notched his third straight 100-yard receiving game, making six catches for 109 yards.

FHSU defensive back Jordan Starks notched an interception and had a game-high 11 tackles. Defensive lineman Sheldon Schmidt and defensive back Jhimon Preston — who returned from an injury he suffered in the season opener — each had seven tackles. Schmidt also recorded a sack and a forced fumble.

UCO again played two quarterbacks. Collins went 10 of 16 through the air for 73 yards while Keats Calhoon was 6 of 14 for 50 yards with an interception.

The Tigers will host Emporia State for homecoming at 7 p.m. next Saturday at Lewis Field Stadium.
