Thomas More Prep-Marian's Haleigh Spray won Monday's Class 3-2-1A regional at Russell Municipal Golf Course to help the Monarchs take second place as a team and punch their ticket to state.

Leading by one stroke with four holes left to play, Spray held off Plainville's Corbyn Marquess to win the tournament. Spray made a 5-foot par putt on No. 18 to finish with a 90 while Marquess carded a 91.

Plainville recorded a 435 to edge out TMP-Marian for the team title by a stroke.

TMP's Jenna Romme placed fourth for the Monarchs with a 97 while Ella Brummer placed 19th with a 121.

Plainville's Ashlynn Stamper was fifth with a 102.

Cheney also qualified its team for state by finishing third with a 452.

The Class 3-2-1A state tournament is set for Monday and Tuesday at Salina Municipal Golf Course.

At the regional in Hugoton on Monday, Goodland won the team title with a 359, while Colby also advanced to state by taking second with a 362.

Colby’s Brielle Bange took second with a 74, while Goodland’s Kerrigan Rudolph was third with a 79. Oakley’s Jordan Lowrie tied for fifth place with an 83. Colby’s Mya Betz was eighth with an 86 and Goodland’s Colby Perryman was ninth with a 90.
