BUHLER — Seven takeaways, including a fourth-quarter pick-six, helped the Hays High football team earn a 17-7 victory at Buhler on Thursday night.

The Indians (3-4) picked off five Crusader passes and recovered two fumbles. Tucker Veach had two interceptions, including a pick-six with about eight minutes left to help the Indians take a 10-point lead.

Gavin Meyers, Gavin Nutting, Taivian Creamer each had an interception apiece while Trey Adams and Gaven Haselhorst each had a fumble recovery.

Matt Goodale kicked a 21-yard field goal, and quarterback Dylan Dreiling had a 2-yard touchdown run for Hays High.

Dreiling threw for 169 yards while Jaren Kanak caught six passes for 91 yards.

The Indians will host Salina Central at Lewis Field Stadium next Friday for senior night.
