FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The Fort Hays State women’s basketball team placed four in double figures and held Harding to 26 percent from the field as the Tigers opened the Cruzin Classic in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday with an 89-48 victory over the Lady Bisons.
Lanie Page led the No. 16-ranked Tigers with 14 points. Taylor Rolfs and Jaden Hobbs each scored 13 while Cydney Bergmann added 11 off the bench.
The Tigers (8-2) held a 33-19 advantage at halftime and took a 17-point lead into the fourth quarter before outscoring Harding 35-11 in the final frame.
Belle Barbieri grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to go along with eight points for the Tigers. Kacey Kennett and Barbieri each dished out four assists.
FHSU went 29 of 70 from the field, 9 of 21 from 3-point range and 22 of 25 from the foul line. Harding went 17 of 65 from the field and 6 of 27 from behind the arc. Fort Hays had a 53-42 advantage on the boards.
Kellie Lampo was the only Harding player to reach double digits, scoring 11.
The Tigers will close out their stay in Florida with a top-25 matchup against No. 6-ranked Saint Anselm at 2:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. ET) Thursday.
