The Fort Hays State men’s basketball team will play host to Avila University at 7 p.m. Friday at Gross Memorial Coliseum before heading into the two-week holiday break.

The Tigers (5-4) are coming off an 86-59 win over Bethel College on Tuesday. Jake Hutchings scored 22 points, while Jared Vitztum had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

FHSU has four players averaging in double figures — Devin Davis (12.4 points per game), Vitztum (11.9), Hutchings (11.4) and Nyjee Wright (11.3).

Avila enters 7-8 overall and 5-4 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Eagles fell 97-75 on Tuesday at Lindenwood. Shandon Boone leads Avila with 23.8 points per game.
