Hays High split Tuesday's games at Pratt, with the Indian boys picking up a 62-42 victory while the Hays High girls fell 53-50.

The Indian boys raced out to a 20-3 lead by the end of the first quarter and led by 16 at halftime. Hays remained in control in the second half.

T.J. Nunnery paced the Indians with 14 points while Dylan Ruder and Dalyn Schwarz each added 10.

Nunnery had the highlight of the game, throwing down an alley-oop from Kieffer.

The Indians improved to 3-2 on the season while Pratt remained winless at 0-7.

The Hays High girls were on the wrong end of a nail-biter, taking the lead in the last minute before Pratt controlled the final moments.

Aleyia Ruder scored 16 points while Maia Lummus chipped in 12 for the Indians.

The Indian girls dropped to 1-4 while Pratt moved to 4-3.

Hays High will begin Western Athletic Conference play against Liberal on Friday at home.
