The Thomas More Prep-Marian girls opened the Mid-Continent League tournament with a 60-41 win in a play-in game at Stockton on Saturday.

Megan Hamel scored a career-best 21 points while Kassidi Yost added 12 and Emilee Lane had 10.

The Monarch girls (4-5) were set to play top-seeded Trego (8-0) at 6 p.m. Monday in WaKeeney. The girls semifinals are Friday in Plainville.

The TMP boys (7-1) will open the MCL tournament against Trego (6-3) at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Al Billinger Fieldhouse. The boys semifinals are also Friday in Plainville.
