The Thomas More Prep-Marian boys basketball team closed out the regular season with a 61-54 win at Hutchinson-Trinity.
The Monarchs trailed by as much as seven in the fourth quarter but dominated the final few minutes to finish the regular season with a 16-4 mark.
TMP will play host to Phillipsburg in the first round of Class 3A sub-state on Monday at Al Billinger Fieldhouse.
After putting up a career-high 29 points on Tuesday at Plainville, Carson Jacobs scored 27 points to lead the way for the Monarchs. Jackson Schulte chopped in 15 points.
TMP girls 58, Hutch-Trinity 49
The TMP girls were tied with the Celtics late but controlled the last few minutes to move to 9-12.
Sophia Balthazor poured in a career-high 21 points to lead the Monarchs.
The Monarchs will play host to Russell in Tuesday’s first-round sub-state game against Russell.
