SALINA — The TMP-Marian Monarch 18-U summer baseball team moved to 5-1 after picking up a doubleheader sweep of the Salina Eagles 16-U squad on Friday.


The Monarchs earned a 10-3 win in the first game before taking a 10-2 victory in the nightcap.


Mark Rack went 3 for 4 at the plate with two doubles and a triple in the first game, driving in three runs. Tyson Dinkel added two hits and three runs batted in.


Mason Robbins earned the win on the mound, allowing one run in six innings of work. He gave up six hits and one walk while striking out nine.


In Game 2, Robbins went 3 of 4 at the plate. Noah Gibson, Tyson Dinkel, Jace Wentling and Nick Helget each had two hits apiece. The Monarchs forced the run rule after five innings.


Mark Rack tossed three scoreless innings and struck out seven.


The Monarchs will play a doubleheader at Hill City on Tuesday. First pitch is 6 p.m.
