WICHITA - For the seventh time in league history, the Professional Bull Riders Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will take place in downtown Wichita.

This two-day national PBR tour runs from April 23-24 at INTRUST Bank Arena. During these two nights, the best bull riders in the world will compete.

PBR’s Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour last traveled to Wichita in 2019. While INTRUST Bank Arena hosted the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour each season since its founding in 2014, with the exception of 2020 due to COVID-19, Wichita has also hosted the PBR’s Unleash The Beast and Touring Pro Division. Skeeter Kingsolver, from McLouth in Jefferson County, won the 2009 TPD in Wichita.

“In planning the 2021 season, we were committed to bring PBR and the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour back to the great community of Wichita,” said Robert Simpson, General Manager of the PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour. “We have a storied history in the market, and are thankful for the continued support of the great fans in Wichita and the surrounding communities.”

The bull riding at the Wichita Invitational event begins at 8 p.m. April 23 and 7 p.m. on April 24. Due to COVID-19 protocol, limited seating is available.

On the first night, all 45 competing riders will attempt one bull each in Round 1. The Top 30 riders from Round 1 will then return for Round 2 the next day. Following Round 2, the Top 15 will then advance to the championship round where they will attempt one final bull, all in an effort to be crowned the event champion.

Cooper Davis of Texas, who competed in the PBR Caterpillar Classic in Kansas City on March 20, is currently ranked first in the nation.

The PBR Wichita Invitational is the eighth PWVT event of the year. The tour will hit Greenville, South Carolina; Lexington, Kentucky; Pensacola, Florida and Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Tickets for the event start at $15. They can be purchased online at or, at the Select-A-Seat Box Office at INTRUST Bank Arena Box Office, or by calling PBR Customer Service at 1-800-732-1727.
