Two new COVID-19 positive cases have been identified in Ellis County, the county health department announced Wednesday.

The new cases bring the number of active cases in the county to four.

Ellis County Health Services director Jason Kennedy said in a news release Wednesday that the two new cases were identified through contact tracing from another county. They have mild symptoms and are in home isolation.

The new cases “are contacts of each other and a known positive from outside of Ellis County,” Kennedy said in the release.

The county health department is working to identify all close contacts of the two new cases and will notify the contacts.
