'This really is heaven': Kansas football fans storm the field vs. South Dakota after snapping 13-game losing streak
The Lance Leipold era for Kansas football started off with a win — something the program hadn't seen since Oct. 26, 2019.
Kansas snapped a 13-game losing skid on Friday night, taking down South Dakota 17-14 in nail-biting fashion.
South Dakota took a 14-10 lead with 6:10 left in the game when running back Travis Theis raced 25 yards to the end zone, but from there, Kansas battled back.
Jayhawk quarterback Jason Bean, making his KU debut as well, tossed a 15-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Lawrence Arnold with 1:55 left to play, and Kansas held on to win.
In turn, Kansas football fans celebrated like any team would after a milestone win: by storming the field.
