Keeper Corner: Salina teen catches personal-best catfish weighing almost 14 pounds
Fourteen-year-old Cruz Bradley, of Salina, was fortunate enough to catch himself a new personal record during a recent fishing trip to Council Grove City Lake.
The teenager hooked into a nearly 14-pound catfish while fishing the municipal lake, much to the excitement of himself and his grandparents.
The helpful teen was on hand at Council Grove Marina recently to help out organizer Phil Taunton with the first weekly drawing for the What's in Outdoors Family Fishing Contest, which has already seen more than 150 entries from contestants across the state, according to Taunton.
The contest lasts all summer long, and those wishing to submit their photo and a short story about it to the contest may do so by contacting Taunton at email@example.com or by calling 620-794-5373.
To submit the photo to run in The Topeka Capital-Journal's Keeper Corner, as well, you can add firstname.lastname@example.org to that email. Be sure to include the subject's name, age and city of residences, along with any other important details.
